Barbeque Nation – Al Barsha, Dubai

Barbeque Nation is the first restaurant chain to introduce the concept of Over-the-table Barbeque’ – live grills embedded on the dining tables for a complete dining experience. It helps keep the grill warm and the diner can personalise the taste by seasoning it with different chutneys to suite their pallet.

Established in the city that never sleeps – Mumbai, India in 2006 by Mr. Sajid Dhanani the owner of Indore-based Sayaji Hotels Limited. Shortly after its start in Mumbai, it opened in other cities such as Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Bangalore, Lucknow, Chennai, Coimbatore, Pune, Panjim, Kolkata, Kochi, Kanpur, Guwahati and Bhubaneswar. Now they have more than 65 restaurants all over India.

After its grand success across all the major cities of India, they planned to go international. Of course, what better place than Dubai to debut their restaurant, where the east meets the west.

We had been for dinner to their new restaurant located in Barsha. It has a very good seating of more than 200 persons. Contemporary styled interiors with live cooking stations such a katakat and Mongolian wish grill. Various buffest stations serving salads, main courses, biryanis, variety of daals, etc. and of course their famous Kulfis and deserts. They serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.

We were welcomed warmly and seated comfortably. The grill was placed on the table at the juicy kebabs were placed on it. Non veg grills were prawns, fish, mutton sheek kebabs, chicken tangadi kebab. The vegetarian grills were caramelised pineapple, haryali paneer, mushroom, capsicum and tandoori veg kebab. There was mustard coriander, mango mint and garlic mayo served along.

Apart from the above we were served the Cajun Spiced Potatoes and Shabnam ke Moti (spicy fried corn).

We had their juices and Mojitos for drinks.

The salad counter had a variety of salads

Soup counter

The Mongolian wish grill had a variety of meats, vegetables and sauces. You can choose your ingredients and they prepare it in front of you.

The Katakat reminded me of Mumbai’s famous Mohamed Ali Road. Tasty goat / lamb spares such as liver and kidneys are prepared on the tawa.

The Biryani section had veg palav, chicken biryani and mutton biryani.

The dal section had tadka dal, dal makhani and panchmel dal.

Main courses – veg. and non-veg.

Kulfi and Deserts

  1. Hi there
I just wanted to enquire if the food (non veg) is halal and does it hold a halal cerificate.

I would also be most obliged if you would answer the same for the vadodara branch in india
    Many thanks

    1. Dear Ms. Nargis, this is a private blog.. I am sure the meat in Dubai is Halal, but for the Vadodara branch in India, I suggest you call the restaurant on +91- 18001086060 directly to know about it.
