Delhi Darbar – Barsha 1, Dubai

Many of us are familiar with the Delhi Darbar restaurants globally, they have made themselves a brand standing strong more than 60 years. They have opened a new branch in Barsha near to Mall of near to Mall of Emirates . Location of restaurant is easily accessible so won’t be hard to find as well as a huge red signboard DELHI DARBAR will be shinning, bright like a ruby will catch your eyes . I was eager to go and try out the new restaurant which is now giant in size and caters to a huge lot. Delhi Darbar are well known for their authentic Mughlai dining experience. The décor is simple and clean the have dedicated a wall of fame to their Mumbai story having pictures of old Mumbai on wall. Seating is quite spacious and ample of space on busy weekend. Moving towards the menu it is vast and also have Indo Chinese added to its list so do try some of their specialties. Heading towards the best part, which is consumption of the delicious Mughlai dishes.

Beverages: – We tried variety of beverages including the Blue Electric Lemonade which was refreshing and had sweet notes into it. Wonderfully flavored Passion Fruit Mojito was tangy, and mint leaves gives it an energizing feel. Fresh Lime Soda are available in sweet /salted I preferred the salted version of it was nice. We mostly have to wait for a long, to have mangos to be in season, so the best way to stop your craving is have a deliciously thick Mango Lassi which will keep you satisfied.

Starters:- Moving forward to try out our starters we ordered Dynamite prawns it is a must try when you visit Delhi Darbar, they were  very well marinated in their spices and was moist and flavorsome well presented in a martini glass. Next was my all-time favorite. Tandoori chicken was luscious and was perfectly marinated into their spices. I guess a perfect pick off the menu.

The Chicken Kali Mirch where name say it all, it is served on a hot platter having a strong flavor of black crushed peppercorn which gives all its flavor to chicken making it spicy and delicious. We also had the Kungpou chicken  A Szechwan-inspired dish with chicken, peanuts, cashew nuts and vegetables, finished with chili peppers.

Mains:-In mains we went for the classic Butter Chicken, which was a rich gravy with mild flavors popping up, went very well with garlic naan and roti’s.

The Tawa Gosht was next to arrive  the, mutton was very soft and succulent, perfectly cooked as the pieces were  melting in the mouth I would say finger licking good. We also tried out the Chicken biryani  as  Delhi Darbar  are very well known for their different varieties of biryanis, so chicken biryani was a star dish and made complete justice  which came in earthy pot.

I always get very excited when it comes to dessert, every restaurant I go I get to taste different dessert and I am never disappointed in that part of the meal, we had the Angoori Rabdi which was heavenly delicious, basically mini sponges which are named as angoor dunked into thick reduced milk garnished with dry fruits. Next was the Ras-malai, a Bengali delicacy which has cottage cheese patties in saffron flavored rich creamy milk, which is obtained by reducing the milk for hours decorated with rich nuts and sometimes edible silver. Sometimes one plate is not enough to satisfy your tummy so I had one more to treat myself.

Final Verdict: Delhi Darbar once more have proved them self to be the best in Mughlai cuisine serving the best of best dishes. Both the food & ambience  are very well preserved and food is a treat to north Indian cuisine. Recommended to people to have a great time with family and friends accompanying with delicious food.
